Hey!
Well, it has been awhile since we last wrote a newsletter. This has been a very busy time for us but a huge blessing at the same time. We will start where we left off. We headed back to Kennedale on July 20th, without Johnnie Renee. She was in Arkansas at violin camp. Johnny and I had a wonderful time. It was nice just being the two of us for a change. We would like to thank Mike and Cecile for allowing us the use of the Chapel and a big thank you to Cecile for pitching in and playing the keyboard during chapel service. It was great, I hinted to Johnny that we really need a keyboard they are really nice and it would be great to have a keyboard for the ministry! Cecile set up and did RPM club during the weekend and listened to quite a few Bible verses. I even was able to listen to a few as well. RPM this is such a great ministry, and the kids work very hard trying to earn prizes while at the same time learning God’s word. Cecile had hoped to present the trophies at chapel but some of the racers had to leave Saturday evening, so she went ahead and gave the trophies to them Saturday night. Our pray is that God will continue to bless and grow the RPM Club. We had a wonderful weekend of racing and worship.
The next Friday we left to pick Johnnie Renee up from camp. The trip was good. The mountains were beautiful, the roads very narrow and winding in the northern part of Arkansas. We camped out, and then attended the final concert. We left Sunday afternoon to head back home with a very tired teenager. She had a wonderful week and learned many wonderful things to advance her technique and playing. I think she is already packed and ready to go back next year.
We had a couple of weeks off before we headed to Topeka on August 4th. We had a wonderful chapel service. We love the Pavilion where we get to hold chapel service there. Topeka was having slalom races that weekend, and thee was a mother and her two boys who came and attended chapel service. Our racing was not great that weekend, but we still had a wonderful time. Sometimes things do not always go the way we want.
The following week we headed to the Texas Motorplex, where we had another wonderful chapel service. We would like to thank the Motorplex and Mr. Moose for allowing us the use of the Champion’s Club for our chapel services when we are there. It is a wonderful place to hold chapel, and it is quiet. Cecile set up the RPM club and she presented one of the trophies at chapel. It was a very hot weekend. Mark Walter spoke about JAMA and the ministry in Canada and what was taking place there. That was the close of that weekend.
Next we were off to Tulsa on August 25th. We had returned to make up a rained out race from earlier in the season. We met Joey Keith from God Speed Ministry. I had a great visit with the owner of the track after chapel, and would like to thank her for coming to chapel. We love the fact that she tries to have the track preparation done early so that everyone who wants to can come to chapel and it makes it much quieter during chapel. We had a wonderful group at chapel even after the late night due to the midnight drags.
The next race was on September 1st in Abilene. We met John Fiore, a chaplain from San Angelo Texas. He is the head chaplain for Pit Partners for Christ at the San Angelo Dragway. We pray that God will grow and bless the ministry and the Fiore family. Cecile came and set up RPM again. I was able to go help until the dog got out, and we had to chase her. (I didn’t get the door closed all the way, so she decided to go on an adventure.) Finally, Johnny got on the 4-wheeler and chased her down. She was one very tired puppy during the ride home.
On September 8th, we went to Nobile. We arrived only to find everyone gone and that the races had been called earlier Saturday morning due to rain. So we loaded back up and drove straight to Wichita Falls to get some time on the track.
September 15th, we went to Wichita Falls for the 1st Annual Oklahoma/Texas Shootout once the car was unloaded, we found that it was broken, so we loaded back up and headed home.
October 31st we went to Kennedale for the Pro-Bracket Master’s Series and had a ball. It was like a mini vacation for all of us. Johnnie Renee was able to skip school for two days, my husband and I skipped work too. We had a blast racing and doing the chapel service. Cecile did RPM again during the weekend, and several kids came to say memory verses.
This year has been a blessing for us as a family. Johnnie Renee has kept us busy doing senior things such as pictures, invitations, and college interviews.
On top of all the racing and chapel services Johnny has been working toward starting our own business. We have been getting things lined up and praying that the Lord will open all the doors and tell us when it was time to take the leap. Our time is not necessarily His time, but through it all we could see His hand at work. The end of October, Johnny turned in his resignation, and we opened a shop a couple of days later. We have named the shop JSJ Automotive and Performance. God has truly blessed us in this endeavor. He sent Bobby Horn our way, and we share a shop building with him at Horn Sanitation at 218 SE H Avenue in Lawton, Oklahoma.
God has been so good to us as a family. We have enjoyed doing the chapel services for JAMA Racing Ministry for the Drag Race Results.com Racing Series. We have been so blessed just to be able to go and share the word of God with the racers. Throughout the year we have met a ton of great people and forged many new friendships. As we close out this season, we pray that everyone will have a blessed holiday season and that we will see everyone next racing season. May God richly bless each and every one of you as we finish out 2007 and go into 2008. Keep in touch. We would love to hear from everyone.
Love in Christ,
Johnny, Sherry, and Johnnie Renee

Hi Everyone,
I am going to attempt the newsletter this time around, just to give everyone an update on what is happening with JAMA West Team. We got ready to go to Kennedale even though it had been raining here almost non-stop. It was hard to get motivated to get ready with all the rain we were having here, but we did and we left on Friday the 29th about 1 pm and headed for Kennedale. Just as we came off the interstate to turn to go to the track it came a downpour. We pulled in and they told us that they were going to have a test-n-tune if they could get the track dry, but it didn’t work out so we walked around and visited and just enjoyed the evening. Saturday dawned and it looked good. They started drying and prepping the track, but with all the rain over the last couple of weeks it was hard going. Water kept seeping onto the track and so we had a delay in getting things started. About 2pm they called the Juniors to standby, so we were getting ready to start racing when this big dark cloud moved overhead and we got more rain! The races were finally called because there was another large cell moving our way so the races were postponed till July 20th. We packed up and headed north. As we got closer we called our friend Andy to see if they were racing at Wichita Falls, and sure enough they were. So we stopped and raced with them Saturday night.
Then the 4th of July we were blessed by being asked to do a car show and set up our ministry booth. Lawton First Assembly has been working on “I Love America Celebration” for a couple of years and this was the 1st annual celebration. We were very blessed, and we gave out lots of goodies along with lots of Bibles. We were able to share what we do with our racing ministry. God blessed all three of us very much and we have already been asked back for next year. It was a wonderful family celebration for all of Lawton. They had music, family fun zones, a car show, skydivers, and a concert that included fireworks. It was truly a great celebration.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Kennedale the weekend of July 20th. Stay safe, and thank you for your prayers and support of our ministry. God is truly awesome.
God Bless, Sherry West

Hey ya’ll:
Before I start this newsletter let me introduce myself, I’m Johnnie Renee West, Chaplain Johnny West’s daughter. I know it has been a while since we’ve posted a newsletter, so this will cover the Abilene and Shreveport races.
The Thursday, Friday and Saturday before the Abilene race, I was in Enid, Oklahoma, for Tri-State music festival. I tried out for the orchestra in January, and was placed second chair, first violin in the honor orchestra. Saturday was the big concert for all the groups (orchestra, band, jazz band, choir, and show choir). All the groups were phenomenal, and I can’t wait to go next year. As soon as the concert was over, I loaded my stuff from the bus into the car and my parents and I headed south for Lawton. We arrived home about 8:00-ish and everyone showered and packed last minute things into the camper and headed south again by 9:30. I must confess that I’m not sure exactly what time we arrived at the track, I was asleep, all I know is that it was early. We set everything up, walked the dog, and headed off to bed. We woke up later that Sunday morning and went to chapel service. The service was a little bit smaller than usual, but that was quite all right, it was still an excellent service. After chapel service we were going to attempt to race, but everyone was extremely tired, so we packed up and headed north and got some rest once we got home.
After a couple of weeks off and some much needed rest, we aimed south yet again and went to Shreveport. After a rain delay Saturday we went back to racing, and after we went out second round, dad and I set out to figure out why he couldn’t cut a consistent light. Once we found out the delay box was broke, we set out on a mission: To find a new delay box. Thanks Robbie for allowing us to buy one of yours. Sunday started out great. We had an absolutely amazing chapel service with about thirty in attendance. After chapel service we went on to race…but we had some wiring technicalities in the Run for the Trailer. We fixed those went up first round and lost, but we had a racecar now, so we bought back into the second round. In the second round we won and dad finally had the triple zero light he had been hunting all along. Guess it pays to have good working electronics that are younger than your sixteen-year-old daughter. We were so excited and were praising God for allowing us to find out what was wrong with the car. Pumped and ready to go onto third round, it started to rain, and after awhile, they went ahead and called the races, so we headed on home. While we were filling up with gas we saw Mark Walter, a close family friend, our head chaplain, and “support / media man” for DRR (sorry Mark, I don’t know your correct title) pull in across the road. We drove from the Love’s to the Flying J across the road and had a wonderful time visiting with Mark over dinner, even though we had been visiting at the track all weekend, the more time to visit the merrier. We stopped just west of Canton, Texas, and spent the night and enjoyed some quiet family time to ourselves.
We are continually praising God for allowing us to go on these trips and bring His Word to the tracks that we race at and the DragRaceResults.com racers. Thank you to all of you who have supported us so far this year and please continue to pray for us as the season goes on. Special thanks to the members of Liberty Heights Chapel in Lawton, Oklahoma for their monetary donations and all their prayers.
Since the Tulsa race was rescheduled for September, we will see everyone in a couple of weeks in Kennedale.
God Bless,
Johnnie Renee West |

Hi Guys,
We had a blast at Prescot Raceway ! I want to say thank you to Rick Hayes for allowing us the use of the tent and other equipment.
What a wonderful turn out for church and what an awesome experience the service was and in some ways still is. I just love what God does when we just get out of the way and do what He says. I told Sherry I thought church was good , she said it was great. She was right the worship service was great. We should always striving for great when we are praising God.
I want to say Larry our prayers are with you and your family. We must trust in the Lord.
I had a good time racing this weekend and we becoming more consistent . I must say thank you to Donnie Trevino and his family for painting our car and my helmet. Wow is the roadster just a little different in appearance or what. Donnie said can I do whatever I want and I thought about it and said okay. I would of never thought wow. I must also thank David Ousley for helping supply the materials. The car is so different not just in appearance.
One just cannot say enough about the wonderful things God does in our life's. We should remember the good things of life God allows us to have and enjoy.
May God be with you and yours

Hi guys,
We are racing again in DRR Div 4 and along with that we are back on the road with our ministry. Jama Ministry would like to thank Liberty Heights Chapel of Lawton, Okla for their help in futhering our ministry.
The chapel service was very nice at the Motorplex, some old faces and some new faces what a way to start the year. It is wonderful to know that people love the Lord enough to come and worship Him when they are away from home.
We just want to say thank you to everybody who makes this possible. If God did not allow this, it would not happen and all the other things that must happen do happen for all of us to be able to serve !! This is God who puts this work
God Bless

Hi guys
It has been awhile since we have written. Lets see we have been to Texas Raceway, Texas Motorplex, Thunder Valley, softball games and the hospital more than once. The West family has had a very busy time of it.
The Texas Raceway race was a great experience. We meet so many wonderful people and we had our
chapel service in the church which is on the grounds. Johnnie spent the weekend in the camper sick.
We next went to the Texas Motorplex after a short stop to have Johnnie's appendix removed. We had a good time racing and just hanging out. I was some what surprised when I was told we could not have church in the bleachers! Once again we were inside, AC, sound system, chairs and tables. Everybody really liked this.
Then we were off to Thunder valley where we raced Saturday and we had church Sunday then the rain came.
Congratulations to Rustin and Misty on there Championships. Way to Go Guys !!
May everybody have a Merry Christmas

Hi Guys
We are back from the DRR Race at Tulsa International and are loading up to head for Topeka for our next race. This is a little quicker pace than the West Jama team is used to but we are ready to go.
This last weekend was a blast we went a few rounds. Saturday night the dragstrip had their midnight drags this definitely was different from what everybody was use to , interesting I think !
Sundays church service was great : singing ,praising, worshiping, smiling, laughter, praise, man what a deal. It is absolutely a most wonderful event to be allowed to be part of, praise God for all the blessings we each received that beautiful morning.
I asked that everyone please pray for Johnnie Renee, she has had a sever headache for two weeks. The doctors are trying to figure it out.
We need to finish loading up and get ready go see ya in Topeka
May God Bless

Hi Guys, It has been awhile since I have had anything to say. So here we go, we put a new engine together to get ready for the new season. The old one was just worn out, twenty years on a set of pistons. They just do not make things like they use to.
The West family had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also lost a Uncle and my Grandmother but we will get to see them both when we get home. I just ask are you Going to heaven? This is a yes or no question not a I hope so !
JAMAWEST headed out for the Texas Motorplex, the banquet for Div. Four and weekend at the races. We were looking forward to seeing everybody and getting to have church at the races. Oh, Mark Walter was going to be there also, things were really looking like it was going to be a great weekend. Then the rains came . The Lord new Texas and Oklahoma direly needed the rain. The banquet was great and the weekend was wet.
In May we packed up and headed to Abilene this time we had the roadster with us and we did not have a sinlge pass on the new setup. This time we not only got to have a chapel service we also got to race and of course it also rained. Danny and Chris kept it all together by finishing Saturdays race on Sunday morning after church. It took just under two hours, I was impressed how about you! Then we began Sundays race after about a forty five second break ! Home we went very satisfied with the entire weekend.
June rolled around and away we went to Redriver Raceway this time no rain. Everybody was excited about the weather a beautiful weekend to race. The car was there and so was the crew but I have no idea where the driver (ME) was but I must have been someplace far away. JAMA had a good turn out for chapel and we were blessed by the event. I hope all who attended were blessed.
The next weekend ( June 10 and 11) JAMAWEST pulled out headed to Wichita Falls Dragstrip. We were asked to do a chapel service for the CDRA race. This weekend we brought the ministry team, race team, racecar, and for grins I invited the driver. The racing was competitive and we enjoyed the being part of it. Church service was very good and there was a large turn out, to God be the glory.
Got to go now. May God Bless You
and Yours

Hi Guys
I just realized the last BTE Citgo race was over a month ago. The title for sanctioning body has now changed but I am sure the same racing atmosphere and wonderful friendships will still be as it was. We look forward to God allowing us to do His ministry work and hopefully allowing us to race in the Drag Race Results. Com Series . The race at Thunder Valley in Noble, Ok was a great event. Between offerings and the fund raising their was over eight hundred dollars raised for Katrina disaster relief. I am always amazed and blessed by the great and giving hearts of our racers, their families, friends and fans. The racing was a classic example of what we've experienced all year! I broke a good quality input shaft before we began racing on Saturday. Thanks to quick thinking and hard work, we changed it and still made the first round. In October everybody was headed to the Black & Gold in Tulsa. Lets see, it rained Friday night and Saturday. The sun did shine on Sunday and God shined on the Chapel Service. There were many new faces plus the regulars showed up that Sherri, Johnnie and I look forward to seeing at these events. Thank you each and everyone for coming and worshiping God! For the first time this season we were able to go to the staging lanes knowing we were competitive. I wouldn't ever say everything that could go wrong went wrong because something else can always happen but we were beginning to wonder when it would stop. We had a great race day our team is jelling and the car was running numbers and the driver woke up for a moment or two. I was in one of the best side by races of the day and for that matter the year for our team . The difference was 0.0012, man what a race even if I did not win. Thanksgiving is this week and I pray that everybody stops and looks at all the things we have to be thankful for. May God Bless You and Yours Johnny

Hi Guys
The last time I had time to post the events of JAMA WEST was right after the Texas Stampede in Denton Texas. We have been very busy with ministry work , our jobs, track and field and of course softball ( Johnnie).
April 23 & 24 we went to Witchita Falls Drag Strip in Texas where we got to race for two days and we were allowed to have a chapel service on Sunday. I want to thank Darrel Reid and Andy Vanover for asking us to do a chapel service ! God is great he allowed us one more opportunity to do his work.
Back home we went to chase Johnnie and the Lawton Yellowjackets a 14 and under girls softball team. There was practice of course , the local games , the tournaments, qualifiers. If you have ever been around softball you know this becomes a full time job all in itself. Oh I forgot the state regional and the Lawton Championship play offs. Now we get to start practicing for high school ball.
In between softball games we made time to go to the Red River Nationals where once again we had another tremendous turn out for church. Sherri, Johnnie and I met some more very wonderful Christians and got to see a lot of people we are enjoying racing with and getting to know. The car just would not run, oh well.
We also went back WFDS for some testing and tuning this was very productive for us. We thought we had everything squared away and were ready to race. We went home and to more softball thinking we were ready to go to Topeka for the Great American Bracket Nationals.
Off to Heartland Park we went ready to take on all comers. Saturday morning the car was working then it started falling off. Johnnie and I started looking for a problem and we found it a broken lateral limiter, oh no what do we do now. God sent us Jim Toliver who went to his shop and built us a new lateral limiter bracket and got a new bolt that was the right length. Jim then brought everything back to us at the track. Thank You Jim !!!!!
Sunday morning we got up and we were excited about church especially after the great kindness shown us the night before. We went to the stands ready for a great service well great does not describe what happened next, fantastic might. The Lord had the largest turn out we have ever been allowed to be part of. I know God Blessed Sherri , Johnnie and I and we went to the trailer all smiles and we were ready to race again. I hope everybody who was there was as touched as we were.
We started racing again to find our slicks were done, toast, finished. JAMA West Loaded up and headed for home and more (yes you guessed it) SOFTBALL. God protected us all the way home! We missed every bit of the sever weather.
May God Bless You and Yours

It has been a week since the wonderful weekend at Denton, Texas. Looking back at the absoltely beautiful weather that God blessed everyone with it just makes me appreciate the wonders that are before us every day.
I want to thank the Walter family for coming and spending the weekend with us and all the other racers who attended the event. This was a very special time for my family and I to have Walter's at the second event at which we were allowed to deliver the Sunday morning worship service. I believe the service was a blessing for all who were involved. I just love being given this oppurtunity and I thank God and Mark Walter for allowing me to serve.
The smiling faces and the fellowship at the service and at the track for the whole weekend makes the effort to be there worth every bit of work. We found out alot of things about our roadster with everybodies help and deligent efforts. I hope and pray with a chance to go test we will be able to calm the launch down and be able to have a ET car again.
Sherry, Johnnie and I had a wonderful trip to and from the races. We were able to get home under our own power! We thank God for this blessing. I want to thank Terry, my boss, for allowing me the time to be able to do this ministry.
May God Bless

We have just returned from first great adventure with JAMA and it was a blast. Sherry, Johnnie and I had a great time visiting with other Christian racers. The Sunday worship was the highlight of our entire weekend.
I was telling my dad ( THE OLE MAN) about having thirty at worship and he just thought that was the grandest thing to happen at the race track. Our racing experience was not as exciting but very educational. We started out with a fuel line sagging under the car. This caused the beams to stay on. We were all over the board with our lights and times. Thanks to Chris Barker we were able to discover what was causing our erratic problems.
The rains came down on Saturday, during the first round, and did not stop till Sunday morning. There was short break and we got some racing in. I have been proclaimed the redlight king by my loving wife and daugher. We all had a good laugh and loaded up and headed home.
I want to thank American Wrecker Service of Lawton, OK for coming and getting our tow truck and trailer and bringing them home. Chris and Vince, we really appreciate your help and the care you took with our belongings. We also want to thank David who drove to where we had broken down and took my wife and daughter home. Thank you very much David!
This is not the last but the most important I want to Thank God for providing all these wonderful people to help in our time of need!
May God Bless
